Drunk Driving Do you think drunk driving is dangerous? Drunk driving has an estimated 1,393 nearly four fatalities every day of the day. Every 51 minutes in America is killed in a drunk driving crash. I think that drunk driving should be held to a higher consequence.
The leading cause of deaths is motor vehicle accidents, 31 percent of teens had been drinking. Drunk driving claims more than 10,000 lives per year. These deaths contributed to a cost of $44b per year. Alcohol is a substance that reduces the function of the brain, impairing thinking, reasoning and muscle coordination. Alcohol is not good for your body,it can kill you in many different ways like from drunk driving to mouth and throat cancer or even liver cancer there's many more. Alcohol harms your body so much,but it also can put somebody else in danger as much as you if you’re driving while your drunk, so if you’re going to drink you should have a designated driver, a designated driver is a person who abstains from alcohol in order to drive the others safely. Over many years the organization has expanded its work greatly, especially in the area of preventing underage drinking. MADD has helped pass thousands of anti-drunk driving laws. MADD helps educate people about drunk driving and offers help and support to people of drunk driving. Another popular anti-drunk driving youth organization is the Student Against Drunk Driving (SADD). This program is a student to student education program that aims to prevent alcohol use and abuse in the United States. Their goal is to give students the best prevention and intervention tools possible so that they can deal with common issues, like underage drinking. SADD started off by getting kids to say no to drinking and driving, but over the years the program has expanded its work to prevent all types of destructive decisions. Doctors for Designated Drivers (DFDD) is another anti-drunk driving program. It was created to increase the safety of other drivers.
