I found there to be a lot of important and useful information in this chapter and I would agree that knowing the demographics in which an organization operates is vital. The demographics of an area can make or break the financial viability of an organization. As you stated in your example, the services that are needed for a low socioeconomic area are different than a more affluent area. This can be a major setback for an organization that invests in services that they are unable to provide. This was a great example that provided to demonstrate how important health status, economics and demographics are interrelated to an organization. To add to this thought, I would like to investigate whether or not other countries are able to implement this concept into their strategic plan with differing health care structures.
