One study has shown that when people write in cursive it uses both sides of the brain. If we aren't using our brain to it's most ability then we are not using our full potential. Most people before the 1940's and 50's used cursive handwriting. Some people think that kids today are not a smart as young teens and adults during that time period. Maybe because we are not activating both sides of our brain.
Other studies show that people that learn cursive handwriting and have brain trauma that can no longer read and write in print, can recognize cursive writing and still people to read and write in it. But, if it is not taught in schools today then people that have some form of brain trauma in the future won't be able to read cursive. Also you need to be able to at least write your signature in cursive. It's very elegant and looks better if you know this skill. Schools all around America should teach this skill because it has been taught for generations, and there was never a reason to stop teaching
