How would it feel to have a low IQ and not be very intelligent? The story “Flowers For Algernon”by Daniel Keyes, the main character Charlie Gordon is not very smart or intelligent. Charlie can get an operation that will make him smarter, and maybe he won't fail the inkblot test again if he gets the operation. Also the operation will help him with his grammar, spelling and punctuation and he won't be getting made fun of by his friends and he won’t sound like a little child writing he will actually sound his age.
First one example is why he should have gotten the operation is because he was smarter for a little bit and also he was happy that he was smarter, because he he actually knew what he was doing and he wasn't making hardly any grammar, spelling and punctuation mistakes in his reports from when he got the operation. But also they must have not been very good friends for Charlie, because if they were his good friends they wouldn't have made fun of him like that. “Only a short time ago,I learned that people laughed at me.” (Keyes,76)“ That hurts most of all.”
