Why Is Bullfighting Important In Spain

Decent Essays
Although bullfighting can be a dangerous sport, it is very popular in Spain. The bulls are let into the arena, where a group of matadors later come out. The main matador has a team to help him fight the bull. They lead the bull with a large cape that is purple and red. The matadors stab the bull in the neck to weaken him and later attempt to kill the bull. I think bullfighting is a traditional sport that should stay legal, and here are some reasons why.

Honestly I don’t have an issue with bullfighting. I say that now, but if I go to watch it may be a different story. If the people of Spain enjoy it, then why not? Bullfighting is a tradition in Spain that opens the chance for many people to have jobs working in the arena. If bullfighting were to be banned or to become illegal, thousands would lose their jobs.

I mean, you’re going to kill it sooner or later, so why not get lots of money out of it? Usually after the fight the meat is cut up and given to homeless shelters or families in need. I think it’s completely fine to make money and then donate food to people who need it. Spain obviously has enough bulls to keep doing bullfighting all these years, so what’s it gonna hurt to keep doing it?

I also feel that it is a great thing for the economy in Spain. People pay money to go watch the bullfights. The money then goes to help in the economy, and soon comes back around as some people’s paychecks. Even though an animal is most likely getting killed at the end of a fight, it isn’t much different than an all-human sport. Many americans love to watch football, where lots of people get injured on the field. Every country has their own sport or tradition, so just because a bull is dying in Spain, doesn’t mean it should be illegal unless we’re going to stop most

Banning Pit Bulls Doesn’t Solve the Problem Pit bulls are vicious animals and should not be pets, but let’s look at what they were really bred for. According to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals, (ASPCA) Pitbull’s were bred for bull-baiting and bear-baiting. They were bred to hold these large animals by the face in the United Kingdom. When this had become illegal in the late 1800s, people decided a new fate for these companions, which was fighting.…
