Her hearing was less than three minutes and she was sent away. Hillary entered a consent decree after saying she wanted a second hearing because she did not know her rights were waived, after that expungement was considered. Another reason it upset me the most is because the officer on the phone made it seem as if they had nothing to worry about, but when they entered the courtroom everything went the opposite direction. Once Hillary was shackled the bailiff in the courtroom said to her, "Just listen to what you 've done to your poor mother." Laurene felt bad because she insisted that Hillary did not need a lawyer because she had trust in the justice…

As many people know, the impeachment process of a president is not a good thing. Out of all of our presidents of the United States, two have been impeached. Both William Clinton and Andrew Johnson were impeached from the oval office. Andrew Johnson served in the oval office from 1865 to 1869 before he was impeached. William Clinton served as president from 1992 to 2000 before he was impeached from the oval office.…

Only thirty-five senators found Andrew Johnson guilty therefore president Andrew Johnson was not convicted. President Richard Nixon would also be involved with a scandal called the Watergate scandal in 1974. President Nixon resigned from his position as the President of the United because he didn’t want to be impeached and convicted. Richard Ben Veniste said “Without the tape-recorded evidence demonstrating irrefutably, in Nixon's own voice, his knowledge of and active involvement in obstruction of justice, it is likely that Nixon would have escaped impeachment and removal from office.” In 1998 President Bill Clinton became the second president to ever be impeached by the House though the senate did not find him guilty of charges.…

Speak the words presidential scandal, and what goes through a person’s mind is Watergate. This scandal set a precedent for all other scandals. What started as a promising presidential career for Richard Nixon, quickly turned into the largest and most devastating scandals the United States has ever known. (U.S. News, Article 1) I disagree with this because people were able to vote when Nixon was president and while he ran for reelection. There is no proof that validates voting in political activities increased since Watergate occurred. The Watergate Scandal affected political life, but did not encourage more people to vote. However, it did help motivate them to get more involved in the backgrounds of the politicians and government officials.…

Mainstreaming Arkansas In the early to the middle of the twentieth century, Arkansas began to grow closer to the modern image that the rest of the United States had seemed to obtain. Although Arkansas’ process of growth was much slower than the rest of the country, the state did begin to catch up and dive into the mainstream. Arkansas developed economically, politically, and culturally by means of businesses that blossomed within the state, politicians that rose to the occasion, and the process of urbanization within the cities around the state, helping Arkansas to achieve a more modern status that better fit the time period of the country.…

The most known scandal in presidential history occurred in the 1970’s that was known as the Watergate Scandal. As stated by Wendy McElroy, “Having shrewdly used his [President Clinton] personal life to further his political career, Clinton cannot object when others question whether the carefully scripted images are accurate.” (Source B). In addition, he and Congress did not agree to the terms of the Reconstruction and some bills that he vetoed. For this reason he was rejected from the American public thus preventing him from succeeding as President! The Clintons had entered into a real estate venture, arguably a sweetheart deal in which their potential for loss was minimized (although the proposition was so goofy that they did eventually lose some money) with some shady characters who were simultaneously looting a local savings and loan institution (Klein, 2003). Between January 3, 1994 and August 3, 1994, President Clinton addressed the “Whitewater” matter in the course of seven press/media appearances (Blaney & Benoit, 2002). Kenneth Starr was originally appointed to investigate a failed Arkansas real estate deal involving the Clintons almost 20 years after the fact, Starr 's scope expanded over time to include a bewildering range of accusations of fraud, obstruction of justice and abuse of power allegedly involving President Clinton and the first lady, as well as some of their closest friends and advisers (Washington Post, 1998). A fraudulent $300,000 federally backed loan to Susan McDougal, some of which went into…

Soon enough the United States hits another pothole which is Watergate. Nixon was projected to win the election for his second term in a landslide, but that wasn’t enough for him. Even though three presidents faced impeachment charges, only one president left office. Richard Nixon, the thirty-seventh president of the United States, a man in the public eye for many years as both a U.S. representative and Senator (“Richard”), was a well-educated and around sixty when he resigned from the position as president. On the evening of August 8, 1974, Nixon delivered his resignation speech over a public broadcast from his Oval Office to the people of the United States. The former president gave his resignation speech to inform the nation of the upcoming changing president; he also voiced his hopes for the country in future affairs, especially the foreign policies Nixon himself set up, as well as his regrets with the Watergate…
