Best President of the United States: Clinton
Once every four years American citizens who are registered to vote cast ballots to elect the President of the United States. A president may serve no more than eight years, or two terms. President Clinton was elected as the 42nd President of the United States in 1993 (“William J. Clinton”). According to The White House biography, “William J Clinton”, during the administration of William Jefferson Clinton, the U.S. enjoyed more peace and economic well-being than at any time in its history. He was the first Democratic President to win re-election since Franklin Roosevelt (Amadeo). Based upon his education, economy, and civil rights policies, President Clinton was a successful president.

“…he was equally insistent on the need for racial tolerance and a determined government effort to promote diversity” (“Bill Clinton on Civil Rights”). Clinton found it important to make sure everyone had equal opportunities in order for the nation to be prosperous. “Discrimination or violence because of race or religion, ancestry or gender, disability or sexual orientation, is wrong…make the Employment Not Discrimination Act and the Hate Crime Prevention Act the law of the land” (“Bill Clinton on Civil Rights”). He believed it was wrong to be judged for who a person was so he tried to enforce these acts which protected people who were bullied for this. “The president signed the Transportation Equity Act…protects the DBE Program, a program that ensures minorities and women owned businesses have an opportunity to compete for transportation projects.” (“Bill Clinton on Civil Rights”). This act signed by President Clinton does exactly what it says, which is to give an opportunity for minorities and women to compete for transportation projects. President Clinton’s success was noticed by most but some believe the opposite.
President Clinton is still thought to be a successful president because of his policies on education, the economy, and civil rights. Most would argue that Bill Clinton was a bad president because of his affair with Monica Lewinski. I disagree because his private life did not affect what he did for this country and it should only be important to his family not the public. President William Jefferson Clinton ended both his terms with a budget surplus, more jobs, better policies to protect citizen’ rights, and a new view on the importance of

In “How a Democrat Killed Welfare” by Premilla Nadasen we read about Bill Clinton, former Democratic President of the U.S. and how while in office, he essentially destroyed welfare in the U.S. Firstly, I just wanted to say that I was very surprised that this article was in the course packet, considering that this is a sociology class; and I’d assume most if not all sociologists are Democrats. I found it surprising to see an article slamming Democrats. After Clinton was elected in 1992, many people breathed a sigh of relief as they thought the the horrors of the Reagen-Bush era were over.…

Clinton's presidency was a seemingly long hard road. During his second term as President, He was impeached due to charges of lying under oath to a grand jury and obstruction of justice. However, the real underlying reason for the impeachment was Clinton’s denial of the Lewinsky Affair. The public opinion of the Lewinsky Affair allowed the Republican party to create a political strategy to use against Clinton. “Contending that Clinton had committed perjury, Republican leaders made the affair the centerpiece of their quest to defeat Democrats in the 1998 congressional elections” (Jansson, 2012,p.398).…

Even though Reagan and Bush were republican presidents and Clinton was a democratic president their polies were very alike and in some cases almost identical. Clinton’s policies were really more conservative than liberal. To start off, each of these presidents were elected during times of very low voter moral. United States citizens were not excited about government in general during this time, as well as the Reagan Bush eras. It did not matter if you were democratic or republican, citizens most likely did not trust you and did not have much faith in you.…

Mainstreaming Arkansas In the early to the middle of the twentieth century, Arkansas began to grow closer to the modern image that the rest of the United States had seemed to obtain. Although Arkansas’ process of growth was much slower than the rest of the country, the state did begin to catch up and dive into the mainstream.
