It’s a family tradition that is passed down from generation to generation. Essentially, you inherit your family’s team when you’re born. I was born into a San Diego Padres family; then married into a San Francisco Giants family. Baseball is a staple of our childhood; getting together with our friends and playing on our makeshift baseball diamond; throwing pop-ups and trying to hit grand slams. Not to mention it’s an affordable sport to attend, unlike the NFL or NBA; a whole family can go to a ballpark and not “break the bank” in doing…

I’ve been playing baseball ever since I could pick up a bat. Since then, I’ve been to countless practices and played in hundreds of games. Baseball is essentially a second life, and if you were to step into my room, for example, you’d see a childhood baseball bat leaning against my nightstand, several baseballs on my dresser and scattered on the floor, and a picture of Wrigley Field displayed on my wall. I think I enjoy it so much because it constantly has action, with my adrenaline going the entire game. Also, I was always a smaller kid when I was that age compared to the rest of my peers, and soccer was a game that size didn’t matter as much.
