Why Is Barack Obama A Good President

Decent Essays
Though there are many presidents who have did a lot of work to keep the United States well and going, I believe Barack Obama is a good president. There are countless of reasons why. For one, he was the first black president! For that he will be remembered but not only for that reason. He has made a name for himself that history, hopefully will not forget.

President Obama fought and won for healthcare with the Affordable Care Act. Americans have health coverage and much better access to medical care. This medical care is also known as Obama Care. The country as a whole spent a lot less money because of it. And that was all thanks to the healthcare he fought for.

His constant strive to advocate for women's right was very inspiring to me. Nancy Northup, president and CEO of the Center for Reproductive Rights states: “We applaud the important steps forward for women at home and abroad in the President’s budget this year, including a much needed increase in the nation’s family planning program and the restoration of funding for the United Nations Population Fund." That definitely shows his huge amount of support about the subject. His support helped women all over the world, and not many people see that.

He said himself, “That’s what ‘My Brother’s Keeper’ is all about. Helping more of our young people stay on track. Providing the support they need to think more broadly about their future. Building on what works – when it works, in those critical life-changing moments.” - President Barack Obama, February 27,

President Obama is very good at framing his words so that the American public can understand him the way he wants them to. Obama made a very eloquent transition into talking about the benefits of his health care system by comparing what he was doing with what some of our finest presidents have done in the past. When Obama was quoting Teddy Roosevelt and how he broke up monopolies, or establishing our national park systems, or when he is talking about Dwight Eisenhower and how the government under his watch started the interstate highway system, he noted that during all of these big changes there was also resistance from the public but if we look back on the matter now we couldn’t live without some of these systems that were put in place. Obama has framed his words so that the American people can justify supporting him in the decisions he as made during his presidency. Obama is also able to throw any type of blame off on his government and put it back on the American…
