The name Augustus means exalted one.
He was born to Gaius Octavius Thurinus in Velletri (20 miles or 32 kilometers rounded from Rome)
Augustus was the founder of the Roman Principate.
The 1st emperor of Rome was Augustus.
Augustus's full name is Imperator Caesar Divi Filius Augustus.
His father was a senator and governor.
The Triumvirate is an agreement to share Rome's territories evenly between the three of them. Antony landed up getting the East. Lepidus got Africa and Octavion got the West.
During Augustus's reign he also remade a new forum as well as police and fire departments.
Augustus 'led Rome's transformation from republic to empire during the tumultuous years following the assassination of his great-uncle

During Augustus's reign Rome's size nearly doubled, this was probably due to the fact that Augustus spent most of his time outside of Rome taking power and forming a system where the conquered population hadto pay taxes.
Augustus also grew the network of roads, founded the Praetorian Guard and the postal service.
Augustus was born in Rome and named after his biological father.
When he was four years old his father died leaving his grandmother to take care of him.
Augustus was known for being good at being ruthless but fair and kind.
Augustus's first ad second marriage was only for politcial reasons. Although his thrid wife was his love of his life. They landed up being married for 51 years.
Augustus is commonly reffered to as Octavion and is known for making peace during his reign.
He had no sons and one daughter with his first spouse.
When Augustus died his ashes were taken to Rome and buried in the mausoleum. Augustus was also proclaimed a God among the host of the Roman pantheon.
According to his wife at the time and his adopted son Augustus's actual last words were ' Have I played the part well? Then applaud as I exit.'
