Why Is Athena Important In Ancient Greek

Athena, an important goddess of the ancient Greeks, was a divine source of human knowledge. She was believed to be the protector of Athens. Athena was the most important deity of ancient Greece, the virgin deity worshiped as the goddess of “wisdom, fertility, useful arts, and prudent warfare.” Athena was the patron of the city and agriculture. She was fierce and brave in battle. Athena was born from her father Zeus and her mother Metis. Zeus was scared that his daughter was going to be greater than Zeus himself, so Zeus swallowed her. However, Athena's mother made her a helmet and robe while she was in her father to cause great pain to Zeus. Nevertheless, Hephaestus comes with great courage, and breaks his father's skull open releasing the beautiful and full grown Athena.
