Even though we provide experiments on animals doesn’t mean we have stopped performing experiments on humans. No matter how many animal tests that go correctly there still will have to be people to be tested on as well. Most people would argue that by testing animals first we are lowering the odds of something going wrong with us which is true, but not a very good statement. According to the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) 92 percent of drugs shown to be safe and effective in animals actually fail in human trials. This occurs because humans and animals may have similar, but not identical biological makeup. Even if a drug is approved for humans there typically are a overwhelming number of potential side effects that nobody wants to deal with. Just think about the medication commercials and how the voice listing the potential side effects is speaking at a hundred miles per hour. They don’t want you to stop and think on how unpredictable these drugs they are putting out in the world
