Almost 26 million animals are being tested on in the United States alone each year .Animals shouldn’t be used for testing, it is unnecessary and not effective. New methods of testing products have been developed and researched, and animals are very different from human beings, so the tests are not reliable. Alternate testing methods now exist and could replace the use of testing animals. The Wyss Institute of Harvard has created their own microchips, called “organs on chips”, that mimic the human organs, including the bone marrow, kidney, intestine, lung, and skin. This means that the use of animals aren’t necessary if there are other options such as this. There will be no more need to test on rats, rabbits, and other helpless animals. Animals
