Alexander was a strong man who lived for power. He felt that the more power and control he had, the greater he was. However, this is not entirely true. He became very powerful and had power over Persia and completed his one and only goal which was to claim to rule all of Persia. He also showed compassion to some of the rebels and he respected the egyptians beliefs. He used superior tactics and skilled battle strategies and he was very successful in spreading greek culture. Those things are great, but he gave up when he went to India and many people say that it conquered him. When you work so hard for something you don't give up when it seems to be getting hard.
The worst thing about Alexander is that he killed many people. He also sold over 20,000 citizens and had false reports of death in 335 B.C.E. Along with the heavy losses that he suffered, he killed 80,000 people. That is definitely not great. Out of all the victories that he faced he had killed many innocent people.
In conclusion, Alexander was not so great. He did many good things and built himself up with power, then he let that power ruin him. He used all the power he earned and took it out on the lives of innocent people. He was also a rude and disrespectful person in general and he thought he deserved to be treated as a god for it. If that is what great is than I don't want to be considered great, and neither should anyone
