The strongest piece of evidence we found that shows that Adnan is innocent is the fact that Adnan supposedly has an alibi that he was in the library on January 13th in the time period where Hae would’ve been killed. To back it up he also has a witness, Asia McClain. “When I first heard about the long-lost Asia letters and the lawyer's mistake, I thought, well, their fight is over, right? They've got an alibi witness who was never heard from. It's such a slam dunk. They're done” (Sarah Koenig-Episode 1-Serial) that’s what you would think when you heard that Adnan had an alibi, but what’s an alibi if your lawyer doesn’t use it. Christina Gutierrez, Adnan’s original lawyer, knew that there was this big and important alibi floating around out

In the podcast, it states that Adnan was very close to Stephanie Episode 1-“Adnan was super close to Jay’s girlfriend, Stephanie”. Jay could have been jealous of Adnan or mad at him for being so close to Stephanie. When the murder of Hae happened whether or not Jay had been apart of it or not he would want to throw this all onto Adnan to get back at him. I know this seems like no one would do this but let’s think he was one year out of high school he definitely still making horrible irrational decisions. One bad decision would be that he was a drug dealer and he would often go out and smoke weed Episode 1- “Adnan and Jay would go out and smoke weed often”. There is also another reason why he would want to throw Adnan under the bus. This is that he knows who killed Hae or maybe he killed her but Adnan would be the most logical person to frame. Adnan was just getting over a break up with Hae, some people saw him as clingy, Adnan broke the rules his parents had set, he practically disregarded large parts of his religion, and the list just goes on. With all of this stuff on Adnan, it would definitely make him a super easy target. Also, this would explain why he would know where Hae’s car is and other key points to the murder. Why wouldn’t he just tell the police about the real murderer of Hae instead of making something up? Maybe the person that killed Hae was close to Jay and he wanted to protect that person. Or just maybe Jay had killed Hae and was trying to protect himself from a life in

Winnit wanted to put up a statue to show his religion, but he put it right in front of another religious statue. Official take it down thus making Winnit mad, so he files a lawsuit demanding to put it back up. The District court ruled in favor of the officials saying that it wasn’t a violation of freedom of exercise of religion, and if the troll was kept would act as government speech, which is a violation of the First Amendment. The 4th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals disagreed with both the District and eventually the Supreme Court. I have a dissenting opinion with the majority with the Supreme Court.…

There is too much leisure time in the way Jay has described the timeline. Also, if Jay is telling the police that he is innocent and Adnan is guilty why wipe the fingerprints and throw the clothes away. The payphone must’ve been somewhere else. Jay probably forgot how the day went for there to be leisure time. He probably did not want to be involved in the first place and did not want to go to the cops at first.…

Jay tells different stories of where Hae was murdered. In episode 8 at 26:43, we are introduced to Chris, one of Jay’s best friends at the time. Jay had told Chris about the Hae’s murder ,but it was a different story from both testimonies Jay had given to the police. Supposedly, Adnan had called Jay at his house, but in this story he got a call from Adnan when Jay was at a pool hall. The motive and the location of Hae’s murder do not correlate with Jay’s story.…

His heroic testimony against his good friend is the main reason the state was able to correctly convict Adnan. In his sworn statement, Jay affirms Adnan killed Hae and that he saw her dead body. He tells investigators, “all [he could] see [was that] Hae’s lips [were] all blue, and she [was] pretzeled up in the back of the trunk. And she [was] dead.” This descriptive account of Jay’s first interaction with the deceased corps is very clear evidence that he was a witness to this disgusting act.…

The second reason I think Adnan must be innocent is because there are too many inconsistencies that Jay provides during his testimony while being interviewed by the police. Jay provides many stories, which sometimes do not match up to Adnan’s story or to the stories he provides. There were many inconsistencies that did not make sense, of which I will share the 3 that I found most important, which you can find in episode 4 called “Inconsistencies". The…

In the articles “Three Cheers for the Nanny State,” “Ban the Ban!,” and “Soda’s a Problem but…”, all three authors present their arguments with facts, opinions, and counterclaims. However, one article presents itself better than the rest. I believe that the article “Soda’s a Problem, but...” was the most convincing article. Sarah Conly- the author who wrote “Three Cheers for the Nanny State”- argues that the soda restriction is a good idea because people would be stopped from making foolish decisions that they’ll pretty definitely regret.…

Even with all of this in mind, the court sees him as the main suspect and is not dissuaded by his normal persona. They pin him as Hae Min Lee’s killer by using the jealous boyfriend stereotype. It is also bad for his case when there are phone records and accounts of him acting strange on the day of her murder. Jay seems to be the only one that has a story that is sound enough to have Adnan as the main suspect.…

Hungry for Change Why is it that law mandates public school meals have a minimum calorie intake, but not a maximum? This owes itself to the fact that when nutrition standards were established for public schools, it was to solve the problem of undernourishment. The majority of school aged children used to walk to school, played more outside, and were more active in sports. This resulted in children burning more calories than school meals provided.…

The night of Friday, October 2nd ended with feelings of conflict and bitterness for a particular squad. On the other hand, it was arguably the most lovely day that ever occurred to the squad known as Potenza; some people may have seen this event coming, while some others—Iron Survivor, for example—may have considered it a gift of God, for he was overjoyed and almost threw a 50lbs dumbbell at someone's face during his short celebration. On the night of Friday in Finland, Jones had been attacked by two vicious members of ISIS. With the current information available, it is not possible to determine what exactly had happened. We presume that these ISIS members were possibly hired by someone in Potenza to disrupt the balance in TWL.…
