Why Is Abortion Wrong

Improved Essays
Abortion, one of the most controversial and most heated subjects in America with the opinions on both side of the fences and a wide range of ideas and thoughts on what is right or wrong. Personally I believe that abortion is wrong, not for religious reasons, not for social or political reasons. I solely based my reasoning on the thought of if it were me would I want to have an abortion for my significant other. A lot people might view abortion as a form of murder, some people view it as taking care of a mistake that could potentially cause disaster with in one’s life. Neither of which should be completely relied on. Some pregnancies are just not meant to happen. In this since I agree with those people who do not want to destroy there for the child’s life, but in those cases where a child is born in unfortunate circumstances adoption is a viable option. Having the knowledge that I do about both fetal and embryonic development I do realize that at a very early age human development starts. Within so many days certain body parts start to come to fruition, and within weeks you have what constitutes a human. And in this sense I do believe it is morally wrong to have an abortion for one’s own sake. With two very opposite views it has a sense of left or right, right or wrong, yes or no. I choose pro-life because I believe it is Morley right to preserve life rather than destroy. …show more content…
Yes. Abortion is a matter of whole family, it’s not one person’s choice, and you shouldn’t be kept or me to be. Many people have differing views, and that is not excluding families, even fathers. As a future father I would not support my wife if she would want to have an

However, others in society believe that it is an unholy and unjust act to partake in. There is rarely anyone that is in the middle or on the fence about this argument. Many people have very concrete and distinct opinions based on abortion.…

One side is known as “Pro-Life”, the other is known as “Pro-Choice”. “Pro-Life” supporters are typically conservatives who believe that abortion is wrong and should be illegal, some within the group even go as far as calling abortion the “murder of an innocent unborn child”. “Pro-Choice” supporters are typically liberals who argue that a pregnant individual has the right to choose abortion. They believe that it is the body, believe that abortion is not murder and cannot be illegal because they believe that a fetus is “not yet a fully developed living human being therefore it has no…

There are about 1.1 million abortions performed each year in the United States alone. This accounts for about 1/4 of all pregnancies. “Approximately 1/3 of American women have had an abortion by age 45” (Guttmatcher). As a baby lover, these statistics are really hard for me to wrap my head around. There are over a million babies dead that could be learning how to walk and talk.…

If a woman is pregnant and decides she doesn 't want an abortion just because she doesn 't want a kid. Then I feel she should just give it up for adoption. Abortions should NOT be used to terminate ANY unwanted pregnancy. If a woman wants to abort a child, I feel she should have a good reason such as: not having the money to do so, under 18, mentally unwell, or the mother 's life is at stake. The consequences of my viewpoint may be teens having sex more often and just having abortions if they don 't want the…

Some feel that abortion goes against their morals and religious beliefs. Others strongly believe that abortion is a woman’s right to decide. Personally, I believe it is a woman’s choice, because they know what is best for them. This debate between being for or against abortion has been going on since Roe won the Roe v. Wade case in 1973. As we have learned from history classes, Roe was a soon-to-be-mother who tried Texas’ laws because she wanted an abortion.…

Over the years many women have fought for their rights in this world, some women even dying for these rights. So when people wanted to overturn a decision that supported women’s right it was an uproar. Women fought for this decision to remain legal because it was there right. The right to keep abortion legal should not be made by the old white men sitting in office who do not relate to women in today 's society. The choice to have an abortion is not an easy decision for women to make therefore when women make the decision they should not be ambushed about making such a decision.…

Since 1760 BC, abortions have been sought-out internationally. There are a variety of reasons for them: because sexually abused women do not desire for guardianship of the child, females do not want their body to be unfit because of pregnancy, or it was a careless mistake that could have been prevented with birth control or any other prevention method. Many women have nonessential abortions. One quintessential example of this is in China; they kill fetuses if the sonogram proves the unborn child to be female. Abortions should be illegal because it is unjust and purposeless slaughter to the unborn human being.…

Topic and Background The enduringly discordant debate of abortion is one that disturbs each level of American politics and shows no sign of abating (Sandel, 1989). As with many other arguments in politics, there are two central and dividing observations in this particular discussion: the support and the opposition. Within these two focal points there are numerous subdivisions of this dispute, which is what makes this debate so inimitable (History and Debate of Abortion, n.d.). The deliberation of abortion is one that divides the political body on issues concerning control of women’s bodies, rights to privacy, fetal viability, as well as more extensive apprehensions about the general morality of our nation (Ginsburg, 1989).…

I am of the view that every life is a life no matter whether the woman wants the child or not there are many women out there not lucky enough to be able to conceive a child of their own who would be more than grateful of the opportunity of adoption. However, I do agree with a law being in place for abortions to be carried out under specific circumstances such as a danger to the mother’s life; serious health issues caused by the pregnancy or sever disability where the unborn child would have no standard of living and also where the woman has been the victim of a rape. Neither of these circumstances would be fair for the woman or…
