Abortion can be a touchy subject that people argue the fact over if it's right and legal or wrong and should be illegal. Some people feel that abortion is not murder, but there are studies shown that abortion is murder. Although it is the mother’s choice on whether she wants to keep the baby or not, she should think clearly about all of her options. Not only does she need to think about all of her options, but she should realize that this was her actions which had nothing to do with the unborn baby. The definition of abortion says “to terminate,” and to terminate something means to bring it or coming to an end. In the article, ProCon Abortion, some people try to argue their opinion about abortion not being murder and should remain legal. Murder is the killing of a human being, abortion is terminating, or killing of, an unborn human being, murder is illegal but abortion is legal even though their actions are the same. The 14th amendment states that the amendment protects unborn human beings, not harming them and taking their life. …show more content…
Abortion does not prevent suffering, according to the ProCon.org website, it states that fetuses feel pain during the abortion. Kanwaljeet J.S. Anand says,”If the fetus is beyond 20 weeks of gestation, I believe there would be pain acting on the fetus, it would be severe and excruciating pain.” (http://abortion.procon.org/). Within 20 weeks or more, the fetus is more than capable of feeling the pain. A type of commonly performed abortion is called the D and C method, this is a surgical procedure that removes the contents of the uterus by opening the cervix. The pain inflicted on the unborn child at 20 weeks or more is from a type of chemical so the labor will come earlier with prostaglandin or a poisonous salt

Did you know that there are millions of people not alive today because of abortion? Some think that abortion is a horrid and sick way of dealing with an unplanned or unwanted child; pro-life, while others think of it as plan B and/or their right; pro-choice. Someone who is pro-choice feels a woman has the legal right to abort her child, while a person who is pro-life feels that human life begins at conception and that the fetus is in fact a person and has a right to life. But the big question is, how would you feel if someone took away your ability to live? Just think about not being able to say whether or not you want a chance at life.…

According to the article “About Defending Reproductive Justice” it states that“97 percent of women having abortions reported experiencing pain during the procedure, which more than a third described as “intense,” “severe” or “very severe”.” Research shows that teenagers find abortion more painful than older adults (“About Defending Reproductive Justice”). Not only do abortions cause pain for the mother but for the fetus too. During late abortions when the fetus is about twenty weeks, the baby can feel the pain. The article “Unborn Babies Can Feel Pain” justifies that “Surgeons entering the womb to perform corrective procedures on tiny unborn babies have seen those babies flinch, jerk and recoil from sharp objects and incisions”.…

Legally abortion is not murder and cannot be perceived as so because the fetus is not even aware of its life. Sarah Dutton states that “A fetus does not have the capability of sensing pain due to the fact that their neural development has not yet matured enough for a connection between the cerebral cortex and thalamus to allow the fetus an acknowledgement of pain”, therefore it does not harm the child. Murder is classified as the killing of another human being under the law. However, under the Roe v. Wade decision of 1973 and U.S. law, abortion is legally a woman's decision. That means if someone believes the existence and fetal viability of the fetus within their body is in danger, they have the option and choice to either abort or continue the pregnancy.…

Personally, I see abortion as a murder, but I do understand why some women proceed to an abortion Because all of them have different problems and beliefs. So, the question I have always been asking myself is: does abortion legally, morally, healthy and religiously a good thing for women? When you ask such question, people always have different answers. Even though some states in the United States have legalized abortion, I still believe that abortion is immoral, unhealthy, and religiously not good for women.…

For example, the baby’s “skull is crushed so that [the baby] can pass through the birth canal” (“Abortion”), which causes the baby to suffer before it is brutally murdered. Statistics show that fetuses past a certain stage can feel pain during abortion procedures. Researchers have found that “by 20 weeks [of] fetal age and even earlier, an unborn child responds to many forms of stimuli” (“Abortion”), which means the fetus can hear sounds even the mother’s voice. Opponents of abortion can state that there is no excuse to get an abortion and the Roe v. Wade law should not allow women to get abortions. Even if the woman claims she has no way of taking care of the child, there are better options.…

Although there are many heartrending reasons why a woman might become pregnant, those rare cases do not dismiss the fact that abortion is a form of murder.…
