Interesting Philosophical Questions
Introduction. There were a lot of very interesting questions on the list but I chose three very specific ones. Those include, why is there evil, is abortion morally permissible, and what is the best form of government? I will give my personal philosophical answer to is abortion morally permissible? Some people may ask what is a human being? According to English Oxford Living Dictionary the definition of human being is, “A man, woman, or child of the species "Homo sapiens", distinguished from other animals by superior mental development, power of articulate speech, and upright stance.”. That definition includes not only functioning children and adults, but also fetuses and living human bodies without body parts being able to function on their own. I say it is wrong to kill unborn human beings for multiple reasons. One of those reasons are, they do not get the chance at life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. In terms of not getting a chance at life, I mean that they are still alive but they get killed before they get the chance to explore the world. In terms of not getting a chance at liberty, they are killed because of restrictions on liberty. Liberty is the state of being free from restrictions imposed by officials on one’s way of life, behavior, or political views. Abortion violates someone from practicing their way of life, how they want to act, or how they want to express their views. You could argue though that a newborn cannot do those things, but what I am trying to get at is, they do not get a chance at liberty. In terms of the pursuit of happiness, they do not even get a chance to pursue anything because they are killed before they can even do anything on their
