One of the biggest issues concerning Americans today is the debate over whether or not abortion should be legal or illegal. For over more than thirty years Americans have been divided over the issue of abortion. Many Americans believe it to be immoral and some even consider it to be murder. The definition of abortion according to dictionary.com is “the removal of and embryo or fetus from the uterus in order to end a pregnancy.” Proponents say that choosing abortion is a woman’s right and should not be limited by governmental or religious authority. I would go on to say an also if the woman was raped she should be given the option to choose. Then I also remember saying abortion should be illegal if a woman uses no form of contraception and uses abortion as birth control. Then realized I was kind of straddling the fence not wanting to say the wrong thing because you truly never know what is going on why women may need abortions. They may have been too young to take care of the child properly, or having a child may have hindered something’s they may have going for them. I believed a woman should be able to get an abortion and not have to deal with discrimination from others after doing so. I did believe abortion was horrible but I believed everyone is entitled to their own opinion about the topic as well. That is why I believe that I am pro – choice. Being pro – choice to me means that people should have the authority to make decisions for themselves, like freedom, a right of the United States of America. I think people should be responsible for their own actions and what they do to themselves. If they have an abortion it is nobody’s business but their own. Now that I have had the chance to research and view this topic from both sides I really can state I am pro- choice for abortion. Everyone is entitled to their own options about what they
