Why Illegal Immigrants Should Be Granted Amnesty
Amnesty is an official pardon for people who have been convicted of political offenses. The United States of America has grown to be a hotspot for immigrant activity and distress. But what’s keeping the U.S from just deporting all of the undocumented immigrants living in the U.S? The answer is simple. The United States of America has much to virtue from the hard-working immigrants and should be granted amnesty in the U.S. Though this is true, the U.S has yet to grant undocumented immigrants amnesty, but let me tell you why they should.

Currently it is safe to say the labor mobility limitations placed in the U.S is actually holding back the increase of net gain money we could be receiving. Just to make things a little more measurable and acceptable politically, “ If only 5% of the population in poorer countries immigrated to richer countries global incomes would rise by four to nine trillion dollars.” (Clemens, Michael A. 2011, page 2). These gains are miniature to what they could be if the Open Immigration policy was in place. Also important is to include the economic benefit of global marketing from immigration amnesty. This opportunity opens up doors internationally for trade and partnership. Immigrants that own business here build connections with their native land and begin to make a marketable approach to higher net gains. These successful partnerships boost not only our incomes, but global incomes. In the book “Migrations and Cultures” by Thomas Sowell, it gives us a prosperous example of how virtuous immigrant labor can be through global marketing. Correspondingly, natives in the U.S are actually more likely to be arrested or incarcerated than illegal immigrants. This means illegal immigrants are coming to richer countries to work and not stir up trouble in the nation. Along with this, “The Wall Street Journal” journalist Jason L. Riley suggests that when the illegal immigrant population tripled from 1990 to 2013, “FBI data indicated that the violent crime rate declined 48%—which included falling rates of aggravated assault, robbery, rape, and murder. Likewise, the property crime rate fell 41%, including declining rates of motor vehicle theft, larceny/robbery, and burglary.” (Riley, page 2). This is substantial evidence to support that immigrants aren’t causing problems in the U.S as much as natives. Additionally, The U.S should consider that illegal immigrants are already paying their fair share of taxes. There is no drag in economy due to illegal immigrants not paying taxes. This goes to say that illegal immigrants in the U.S are paying for expenses just like any regular citizen would. The only difference is that illegal immigrants don’t receive anything in return to compensate for it. Also there’s a renown practice followed by illegal immigrants to work more than what they’re getting paid and taking less welfare than natives. This is not only good for the U.S as a country but also benefits businesses.
