I believe that I am deserving of this award because all of my life I have been raised and guided to always lend a helping hand to a person in need. From an early age I have been a member of a local Boy Scout Troop in Terrell TX, Troop 390, with them I have helped my community whether helping clean and put up tents at our annual Jubilee, or painting parks and decorating and cleaning churches. I have a strong passion for my Boy Scout Troop so even though I am currently an eagle scout and I am not required to attend meeting and events I attend to help and set a good example to the younger scouts. I have enjoyed my boy scouts experience because other than the community service projects we had I also learned a lot of valuable life lessons and skills …show more content…
My favorite event would be our Special Olympics when I am partnered with a special needs child and we would go through a course set up for them. I enjoyed those events because not only are you just there to be a partner but you are there as your partners beigest fan and supporter. In my recent special Olympics I was partnered with Jacory who is the most care free kid I have ever met, it is fun being with him because he always shows me that he doesn’t care about if he wins or loses in whatever event he is in his only priority from when he gets of the bus is to have fun. It is fun to participate in the Special Olympics because even though I may be there to support and help my partner he is always ready to teach me something new, and I leave every one of those events and I am grateful for my health and my family’s health and to have everyone still alive. I am constantly helping my school whether it is a teacher needing papers printed for her or helping make a poster for one of the organizations in my school to helping sell candy for the student council so that our school can have money to be able to take us on memorable trips and throw different school

However, that award would not have been possible without my team and co-captain. Together we had to work to fundraise over $1,000 each year we participated. That took coordination and communication. Especially since all of money was raised through events we held and not through donations. Me, my co-captain, and my teammates all had to work together to make that happen.…

I have volunteered at the Special Olympics for the past 4 years and it has drastically changed my outlook on life. All of the athletes are so joyous just to be there and compete. Even if they don't place, when they receive that participation ribbon the smile on their faces and and the excitement bubbling out of them makes my heart cry with happiness. Because of those experiences, I try every day to look at everything in life as precious and valuable. No matter how small an experience may be, even if someone just says hello or gives me a free drink at McDonald's, I strive to display the same joy and appreciation as the Special Olympic athletes do.…

From how the average voter voices how their decided on their opinion, it is hard to state that the citizens of America can be evaluated across multiple policy areas. Contrary to the optimistic evaluation of many scholars who believe that policy as a whole and location on the political spectrum is most important to which way a voter votes, it is instead correct rather to say that each individual policy will sway individual voting blocks, “single-issue voters” are a frighteningly large margin of total voters. Politicians appear to recognize this often taking stances such as the pro-life stance which is used to win over the evangelical demographic or promising welfare increases to win over inner-city populations. This pattern of voting is shown…

In the society and government portrayed in Animal Farm by George Orwell, everyone should have the opportunity to vote. When there are people, or animals in this case, who have no choice but to step away and let a “superior” type of person vote, is incredibly unfair and takes a large jump away from equality. When a person is forced to not vote on something they cannot help, rebellion and protests are going to be extremely common. This is shown in Animal Farm, not by the pigs per say, but the animals were all treated poorly by Mr. Jones, so they all rebelled and took over the farm. Another example of rebellion, is when the hens all rebelled because their eggs were being taken from them, in the book it is explained as “For the first time…
