In Allied Health Math classes, students start with basic multiplication, measurements, and fractions, and then expand to calculating drug dosages for patients. The skills I have employed to encourage, motivate, and teach students to master nursing math questions confidently should transfer well into encouraging occupational therapy clients.

In Occupational Therapy I would have the opportunity to work with clients with diverse levels of functioning and abilities, and develop individual plans and modifications that can be prescribed for each client to accomplish his or her goals. I have studied and taught problems and solutions for many years, and this has helped me to improve my problem solving and analytical skills. This trait should be an asset in examining clients’ status and assessing their needs to develop unique, dynamic prescriptions.
I have always had the ability to build meaningful relationships with my students. This skill will enable me to build relationships with clients, and to encourage them to aim for higher goals and aspirations for improving their lives.
I will be dedicated to learning all the material presented in the classes and put forth my best effort into continuous improvement in my knowledge and practice in the Occupational Therapy
