One day, as I was flipping through the TV channels, I came upon Mad Money, a show based around the stock market. I was hooked. I played stock market simulation games on the internet and tracked stocks like they were my favorite sports team. Stocks served as a bridge for me to the world of business. My junior year I applied for an entrepreneurial class called CEO (Creating Entrepreneurial Opportunities) through the vocational program my school is involved with. I am currently enrolled and it is like no other class I have ever been in. I have twenty, very driven, classmates from 8 different schools and everyday we have to dress business casual. We utilize local businesses as our classroom and the business owners are our teachers. The final project of the year is for each student to create a business. This involves creating a business plan, applying for a loan from the bank, and showcasing the business in front of multiple communities.
Aside from my Business class, my senior year is like a hour glass nearing the end. I have created many great memories in high school but have also learned a lot about myself through my academic work. The college and advanced placement courses I have taken throughout high school will serve as building blocks for success in my first years of college.
