To be straightforward, I am highly impressed with University of Wisconsin’s academics. Although I am satisfied with my high school transcript, I know it does not portray the student I actually am. My A in AP psychology does not show how many questions I asked, how my curiosity kept me up studying extra information about the pituitary gland, or how I genuinely wanted to understand the material. My A in Spanish 3 does not show me trying to communicate with the numerous Hispanic bussers and dishwashers at work. Not only did I want to succeed in the class, but I wanted to apply everything I learned by attempting many conversations with my coworkers. Jimenez compared the school to Hogwarts. Being a longtime fan of the Harry Potter series, I felt like I was 8 years old again and on my way to see the Order of the Phoenix. I thought it was just an exaggeration, but when I saw the campus I knew what he meant; I absolutely fell in love with it. Being a versatile person, I admired the balance between the busy city and the serene bay. I admired the contrast between the older, characterized buildings and new, modern buildings.
