Why I Want To Pursue College

I am the first person in my family who hasn’t made a decision in their life that does not allow them to continue their education after the age of 20. After my mom lost her job, she struggled to find a new since she did not have a college education and decided that she would go to back to school. Seeing her go through this made me realize how bad I wanted to continue my education passed high school. My family current family and future family is one of my biggest motivations to finish college.
After I graduate from Sinclair Community College on May 6, 2016, I want to continue my education at Wright State University as a Psychology major and obtain my bachelor’s degree. Last school year, I realized that I was going down a college path that didn’t interest me anymore and my passion for it had faded. So I had to reevaluate what I wanted to do. Unfortunately, I have not been able to do as much community service as I would like to due to my busy schedule with school and work, and also my anxiety levels. I put a lot of pressure on myself to do well in school and it causes me be more anxious than the average person when I know I have a test or project due in the following days. To the point that sometimes I will even cancel any plans or not go out if it does not obtain to school.
I raised in single mother home with the mentality that every penny counts. Also, my mom does accounting, so money is a big and open topic in our household. Due to this, I have always tried to apply for scholarships because I know that my family cannot afford to pay for college out of pocket and I don’t want to use loans unless it is a necessity. For example, I have been in college for four years, the first two years was at a private college and the other two at Sinclair, and I have only accumulated $2,000 worth of
