I have many interest such as hanging out with friends and watching sports, but something I'm very interested in and motivated to do well in is cross country. I have been running varsity cross country for my school since freshman year and it has been one of the greatest things I've ever done. At first, I didn’t really want to run, but my dad pushed me to try it out and I ended up loving the sport and meeting one of my best friends. In addition, my coach is amazing and constantly comes up with ways to push me and iIm now one of the top runners in my league. I have many things motivating me to get better--one being the chance for a scholarship--but mostly I really want to get faster and shatter my old record. Another activity I’m passionate about

Growing up is was no question whether or not I was going to college, it was an automatic yes for me. No one had to ever ask me if I was going to college because they all knew that the answer is yes. We have all been hit with the reality of struggles in life. That’s why I learned quickly that you don’t just go to college so you can get a better education you have to be able to do something with that education.…

I believe I should be selected for scholarship support because of my passion for my degree fields and my passion for education. I am studying History, Secondary Education and German and I would like to use my degree to teach at the high school level. Some of my high school teachers were the most important in my decisions for my future and shaped who I ended up being, so I would love to give back that way and do the same for the future generations. It was my history teachers and especially my German teacher who changed the direction my life was going through their support and hard work during a challenging time for me.…

WHY I WANT TO JOIN THE HONORS PROGRAM Alighting from a Boeing 747 jetliner on the JFK tarmac on Thursday evening, April 28, 2016, I walked into what could be called a new page in my life story—a new start. That was my first time on this side of the hemisphere. With little money, zero friends, one close relative and little to hold on to, I found myself leaning on only a thread of asset – my mind. Knowing this, I vowed to keep this God given asset alive and growing with all my soul and might, and what better way to do this than to identify with people of like passion, people who will add to me.…

Personally paying my way through college is just the start of the many complexities I endure as a young adult. It’s mentally challenging to put aside the worry and stress of paying for my particular degree, all while wondering if I’ll even be able to have some saved up for my career after college. My major is Acting in the Bachelor of Fine Arts and that alone is quite a risky major within the college and out in the real world. It is a dream that guarantees less of a secure, consistent and long lasting career, but I truly love theatre with all my heart and those thoughts are the reason why I’m sharpening my skills at the University of Arizona. As of now, I am relying on multiple scholarships, some that support me for one school year in which regardless I am forever grateful and others that support me as long as I am reaccepted in to the acting program.…

I believe I should be awarded this scholarship since, as a senior in highschool, I am determined to attend college and to achieve the highest degree of success and excellence. The main factor in my life that is stopping me from achieving this dream is the price tag of education. Yes, college students receive millions of dollars in financial aid, but most aid is determined by need. In my situation, my parents make too much money to be considered as in need, but they make too little to be able to pay off my future college tuition without a worry. In addition to needing this scholarship, I perform very well in my high school.…

I am currently a sophomore majoring in linguistics with a minor in elementary education at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville. Although I am an in state student, the tuition is a burden and I didn't qualify for any need-based aid so I am dependent on outside scholarships to help me in funding my education. I feel that I deserve this scholarship because although it might sound cliché, I worked hard to get into a top high school which prepared me to get into a well-known university. I took honors and AP classes all throughout high school because I wanted to challenge myself and I am currently doing so at my university by maintaining above a 3.0 GPA. I don't want finances to be the reason I can't continue my education, and I am determined…
