Why I Want To Pursue A Nursing Home

Decent Essays
Ever since I was a child, I have always had a desire to help others. By the age of twelve, I had already witnessed my mother go through several health issues. From being diagnosed and recovering from meningitis to later finding out she has cirrhosis of the liver. Over the years, it started to affect me and who I wanted to live my life for, especially now since finding out that her medication is not working. In high school, I was able to earn my CNA and work with residents at a nursing home. I was able to work with residents with long-term and short-term conditions. Each resident I cared for encouraged me to keep pushing forward from learning from their personal stories, as well as caring from that person medically. Realizing how many people come through a hospital or nursing home has made me desire to become a nurse to provide comfort and care to those in need.
