Why I Want To Pursue A Nursing Personal Statement

Ever since I can remember I have had the urge to care and look after people. Being a young carer myself, it has inspired me to pursue a career within the health care profession. After witnessing my mother and younger brother go through a number of very serious medical procedures, I very often observed and got hands on too. I was in awe and had complete admiration for all the wonderful things that the nurses and doctors had done for them. As I helped my mother through her tough battle with cancer, I realized that this caring nature came naturally to me. My mother experienced many different emotions, but one of the biggest - fear. I want to help people who are scared and sick, not just to cure them but to ensure they are receiving the highest possible level of care. As I began to research the roles of nurses, although being mentally and physically challenging I knew I absolutely had what it takes. I wanted this to become part of my everyday life, to help others and make a change. I would take any opportunity to help anyone and am extremely passionate about making an impact on people's lives. …show more content…
During my time I am developing my skills further, looking more into higher human biology, psychology, mental health, values and principles and dementia- each vital and complimentary to nursing. I look forward to becoming a positive contribution to the NHS team hopefully in the future by learning more about the human body, disease and infection and care planning. I want to represent the National Health Service to provide the highest level of care and give the general public a great and professional impression of the
