I am fascinated with biomedical Engineering as this field seems to close gap between medicine and engineering as well as uniquely combining research and practical work I believe that a biomedical engineering practitioner can have a profound influence over our healthcare system, tailoring basic physical principles to commensurate the complicated design of the human body.
My desire to increase my scientific knowledge has motivated me to study foundation Physics, Mathematics and Chemistry, which have greatly improve my logical thinking.
Physics allowed me to enjoy observing theoretical ideas being used in real world. What attracts me to it is that it helps us understand the complicated parts of everything that makes a modern technological lifestyle and to understand the world around us as well.
Mathematics also extremely interests me because I enjoy working through the complex problems and I really fancy the delightful feeling I get after solving a difficult problems. I really loved and enjoyed it. Over the period of my academic studies I have gained plenty of experience and knowledge and improved my skills like working in a team with classmates, which gave me a valuable meaning of team work and led me to work co-operatively. Meeting new people from different backgrounds has allowed me to listen carefully to others and try to understand the viewpoints of others. However, just as working within a team is very important independent work is equally important. I am very self motivated and enjoy using my experiences and knowledge in applying it to my studies. This experience developed my ability to understand solve problems, work in a team and communicate across a number of people from different

The process of taking bits of information and synthesizing them into an integrated whole captivates me. In college I explored the connectedness between subjects in my studies of psychology, biology, and chemistry. I found it fascinating that all of these topics were interconnected and that one could directly affect another. For example, a genetic mutation in the genome can lead to an underdeveloped organ, which may result in lower hormone production and lead to a psychological disorder. Likewise, environmental factors can influence gene expression, leading to the up- or down-regulation of hormones which in turn affect mood and psychopathology.…

As I passed through downtown Atlanta, I couldn't help admire the home of the Braves, not just because it was an architectural wonder but because it brought back to mind that very first lesson when Professor Van Huevelen sparked my curiosity when he said we find that there are some things in this world that are repeatable. Repeatable. Repeatable. So a baseball pitcher, if he throws a ball with the same speed and in the same direction, spinning the ball the same, it'll end up going about the same place.…

You never know how much you want something until it's almost taken away from you. During my CA-1 year I was involved in an incident where there was a mishandling of narcotics. My residency was on the line, and even after I was cleared of all wrongdoing, I still felt like I had something to prove. I had to show this program and myself that I belonged. Unfortunately, I've been in this situation before, as the underdog, time and time again.…

Dear, As a person I’m acknowledged to be one of the more athletic people, and might I admit my favorite sport has to be basketball. In comparison to other sports, it emphasizes the use of teamwork in a better fashion, condones more responsibility, and there are constantly nasty wrangles between players. However basketball can be demanding of energy sometimes, and I refer to coding. Coding is a great way for me to explore how far web development has truly gone, and it creates so many possibilities by just changing one variable or one source code. Mathematics plays a large role in my love for coding.…

In dance, you learn quickly that without pure dedication and drive you will never be successful. While talent can come naturally, skill and technique only come with hard work. I spent countless hours in dance studios growing up, working tirelessly to hone these skills and perfect technique. A lifetime of dance taught me what it means to have discipline and dedication to a craft, values which I have also seen reflected in my clinical experiences. Medicine is a practice which calls for just as much discipline, dedication, and drive.…

My childhood memories regarding learning mathematics has been for the most part positive from 6th grade onwards. From 1st grade to 5th grade I was not conscientious so at times math tests produced anxiety but math was, at the same time, easier and simpler back then. I recall being the fastest person to state the multiplication tables in 4th grade. During 6th to 8th grade, although I was not necessarily the smartest, I landed at the top of the class in advance math since I was very hard working. However in 9th grade I recalled a horrific incident.…
