Why I Want To Pursue A Bachelor's Degree

I have always enjoyed learning about how the body and mind works, as well as engaging in Physical Education and physical pursuits outside of school, this has developed my desire to pursue sport to degree level.
Sport plays a large part in my life. In school, I was sports captain, which entailed organising teams and training sessions. This improved my leadership skills and offered an insight into other roles in sport, other than being a competitor. I represented my school in many different sporting events such as athletics, netball, rowing, swimming, cross country and football. The varieties of sport I have been involved in have allowed me to develop different skill sets; both physical and psychological. Outside of school, many of my interests are sport related. I swim competitively with Nottingham Northern Swimming Club, where I have reached county standard and have been nominated for Junior Club Captain. I am passionate about swimming and this means that I have to commit myself to many training sessions each week, and therefore have to have good time management skills to balance it with school work effectively. To widen my knowledge even further I read the Wellcome Trusts Bug picture magazine. The more interesting articles have been about the evolution of human movement and how muscles work on a molecular level. This reading helped me to put topics taught in school into context furthering my understanding in those areas. Within biology, I find health and nutrition most stimulating because of its major and wide ranging effects on the body. In addition to this, my PE course covered some similar topics, but was taught from a different perspective. This allowed me to construct informed opinions and apply my knowledge between the two subjects in areas such as the cardiovascular
