From a young age, I determined to pursue a higher education in order to better myself and my community. Throughout my high school career, I have worked hard to excel in all aspects; academically as well as in extracurriculars. Understanding that college poses a large financial burden I have taken up all opportunities to eliminate debt. If I were to receive your scholarship, I would be grateful as I put it towards my life-long dream. With this award, I would be less susceptible to earning a large debt from a single year of an education. Throughout my family, many did not pursue college due to the intimidating costs. Despite this, I am dedicated to achieving far more than what is expected of me. The opportunities a college degree can earn you in the long run outnumbers the cost. …show more content…
I have prepared myself for college level courses through Advanced Placement and Running Start classes. Along with a rigorous course load, I have taken on new experiences through my extracurricular opportunities. I hope to one day give back to my community in order to create a healthier and brighter future for generations to come. It would mean a lot to me if your committee would kindly award me this offer.
Although I have taken up all opportunities to ensure a bright future, I continue to seek opportunities. As of now, I have applied to fourteen colleges nation-wide in order to compare financial packages. To further improve my chances, I have applied to numerous scholarships.
