This led me to attending events held by the Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers (SHPE). After attending a national conference, I became a SHPE member, and participated in the founding of a SHPE club at EvCC. I started connecting with minorities pursuing a career in the STEM field and offered support for them to grow, network and outreach. I have grown to take great pride as a role model in the Hispanic community. And accordingly, I intend to later join the University of Washington’s SHPE
