Why I Want To Join The Military Essay

In the United States, it is widely known that college tuition is expensive; so expensive that even already graduated students still have college debt. This issue has gone on for quite some time, but despite constant complaints concerning this, the government dismisses it and continues spending most of their money to upgrade the highest ranked military in the world. The United States government should spend less money on their already advanced military and more on paying students’ college tuitions. Providing for those fighting for our country is important, they give our generation the opportunities they deserve; however, more students want to receive a college education rather than draft into the military so the refusal to help those who struggle financially, in turn, takes away their opportunity to have the successful future they desire (Tomsic).
Those who oppose this view often argue that the military holds more significance than students receiving an education because those who join the military fight for our country so they deserve the highest amount of support. While the military plays a key role of defending our country, educated civilians also improve our country.
