Every year my school's JROTC program likes to host a veterans day ceremony. We call up local veterans to share their heroic stories and amazing experiences. During the end of the program we give each veteran a medal of appreciation from the school. I enjoy helping by setting chairs, and hanging up decorations for the ceremony. It is hard work, but seeing each veteran crack a smile, and share their stories makes it all worth it. Another way I go about honoring veterans is by simply saying thank you. Every day there are thousands of men and women serving our country in the armed services. They are someone’s brother, sister, father, mother, aunt, uncle, son or daughter.
