I recently saw your add for a Ruby on Rails Developer. Why would should you hire me? After I graduated from High School I joined the U.S. Navy as I felt it was my duty after the first Gulf war had just started. In my 4 years in the Navy I did two tours in the Persian Gulf and I gained in rank from E-1 to E-5 Petty Officer 2nd Class (Not commonly done in 4 years). After I was honorably discharged from the Navy I attended Michigan Technological University where I studied Computer Science. My wife then got a job in North Eastern Michigan, so we moved. I got a job (End Day Processor) at First Federal Of Northern Michigan, and with in 2 years I was promoted to Data Processing Manager. In 2001 after 4 years with First Federal, I left to except a position with Midwest Loan Services. Midwest Loan Services was a small startup, that serviced mortgage loans for credit unions and banks. I was hired to create a online system that would display the mortgage data for individual customers as well as the credit unions and banks. I was given no instruction, other than what they wanted for an end result. I ended up building this system on a LAMP stack, with the back end done in perl. I was in charge of the entire stack.
