Why I Want To Go To College

Neither of my parents received the opportunity to attend a four-year university due to financial reasons. They made the commitment early on in my life to do everything they possibly could to ensure that I knew the value of education, hard work, and service to others. When adhering to these values, they knew I would become successful in life. I truly admire the efforts and dedication that have induced my parent’s success. With this scholarship, I plan to use the funds to become the first person in my family to attend a four-year college. By doing this, I will not only make my parents proud, but somewhat repay them for their hard work. The amount of money needed to make full …show more content…

I cannot express the many sacrifices they have made so that I only had to focus strictly on my education. If selected for this scholarship, I will continue my diligence in my collegiate studies as well as honor the many legacies of our community so that one day, I can live to be at least half the person of each of my parents. The funds will not only help pay for a portion of my college, but also show my gratefulness for my altruistic family. With the characteristics and values instilled in me from my parents, I can use them to serve as a role model to others. I have learned the many rules that lead to success. One, is that is “hard work beats talent when talent doesn’t work hard.” This statement contains a lot of truth because the one that

One reason this scholarship award is important to my family and I is because of the price. To some people $1,500 may not seem like that much money, but I look at it is $1,500 less that I will have to pay. I am a triplet, which means that all three of us will be going to college next fall.
