My mother and family shaped my decision to go to college. I come from an undocumented family with a single mother and five other siblings. My mother works long hour shifts getting paid minimum wage making barley enough to pay for the rent and food for our family. I see my mother try her best to give us the best she can with all the hard work she does on a daily basis. Although my siblings and I try our best to make use of what we have in hopes for a better future by advancing in our education. My mother shaped me to make a decision to go to college because I wish for a better future for her and my siblings. It’s hard to see her working hard every day trying to provide for her children. It brings pain to me seeing my mother physically and mentally tired all the time, but working through it to just to be able to send her children to school at all cost. …show more content…
She doesn’t want me to work minimum wage jobs which I clock in on a daily basis. She wants me to have a better life and future then she had. She wishes for me to go to college and have a great future. She sees that the only way that I could help her is going to college and getting my degree. That’s the only dream she hopes for me to accomplish for her. She wants me to graduate college and get a degree so that all the hard work and dedication she put in for her children would be worth it at the end. As one of her son’s I feel that I could not let her down and wish to help her with all I can once finishing college. I want to pursue a career in Actuarial Science because I have a passion for math and business. Also it’s a high paying job and I would like to help my other siblings attend college to get their
