Why I Want To Go To College

Some say life's a journey, some call it a gift. I, for one, have always seen it as a challenge. Eliot's words express the very core of the principle by which I live by. In the past 20 years of my life I have been known to do quite a number of good, some bad and some downright crazy things, all falling in my most primal line of thought - "Why not".

Schooling was more or less easy as I sailed through it, most of the time being in the top 3 of my class. Participation in science fair and other extra-curricular activities have been a part and parcel of my childhood as well. They say that we are the sum total of all our life experiences. The two years of Intermediate were the beginning of the most formative years of my life. They taught me what life was beyond the four walls of my family, hometown, friends and school. It pushed me to my very limits in a variety of aspects - social, psychological and educational. The extreme visibility of competition created an innate desire within me to excel.

Taking up engineering in EEE (Electrical and Electronics Engineering) branch was a direct result of the recent spurt in Cellular, Internet, Power transmission technologies and other technological advances by that time. As I write this, I can safely say that not only was my belief justified but also my academic pursuit in USA has groomed me into a better person overall. I performed well at most of the courses I chose at ‘Pinchback College of engineering’ at SUBR. But the gem of the lot was my project work under Dr.Pradeep Bhattacharya.
