Why I Want To Go To College

When I was just 8 years old, I moved from Chicago, Illinois to Aurora, Colorado. For me changing states and starting new, meant everything. When I moved I had to leave everything that I loved behind. Even if I knew that I could always go back to Illinois to visit, the idea of leaving my comfort zone scared me. Once we were finally settled in our new home, the day came to start my first day of third grade, an dit was the same day that I realized that I was a “nobody”. Everybody already had their group of friends, and nobody wanted someone that was new to the school and to this state. That was when I learned that I didn’t want to live as a “nobody” to society, but slowly and surely become “someone” that somebody could look up to. Maybe it took me a while to consider myself a “someone”, but that helped me know what I …show more content…
I knew that if I majored in Business Administration I would be able to help my dad and do something that I love. Math had always been my strong suit and I had always enjoyed doing. Business Admission would theatrically speaking help me kill two birds with one stone. One program that helped me realize this now new dream of mine and is helping me achieve it, is Hinkley High Schools concurrent enrollment with the Community College of Aurora. This concurrent enrollment program helps me take college courses from the Community College of Aurora while still attending Hinkley High School. This allows me to receive credit for high school and for college at the same time. So far with this program, I have been able to take College Algebra, College Trigonometry, Humanities, English Composition I/II, Calculus I, College 101: Student Experience,Macroeconomics, Biology 111, and Intro to Statistics. These concurrent enrollment classes from the Community College of Aurora will also help me graduate high school with my Associate's degree of
