Why I Want To Continue My Bachelor's Degree

In the past, when I was enrolled in school, my health, unstable housing, and the lack of varied work experience to guide me toward what I truly desired to study got in the way of my success. I was always stressed and wanted complete control over every aspect of my life; that took a toll on me physically. With my life experiences, I’ve learned that you cannot control everything, and that is fine. Upon my return to the University of Denver, I plan to take a more strategic and structured approach to complete my Bachelor’s degree.
During my break, I have developed new skills and have gained experience within different industries. I’ve had the opportunity to take a step back, look at other options and determine what is important and ideal for me to make the decision to complete my degree.

One month goal: Continue working at CDOT within the Procurement office, training and working with budgets and financials.
My Plan of action is my a “work-life” balance, and this is a lifestyle change I am ready to make. Now having better control over my life, I understand that stress is inevitable; it’s important to keep in mind my motivation for taking this approach on life and to regularly evaluate the ability to continue and accomplish my goals.
I have support from my employers, as they are flexible with my schedule so I can balance work and school, as a more structured schedule with everyday life. This allows me to claim ownership and be more responsible for my own work and school load/progress. I have found coworkers who have completed their degrees in finance who are willing to help tutor me. As well as being open to join study groups and meet with my professors on anything I cannot grasp. I am more organized as far as time and project management. Along with devoting more time to my studies and not procrastinating. Also, keeping in mind that my health is a big factor in being successful with these
