Why I Want To College Essay

Engineering is a difficult program to be interested in. According to a study that The New York Times did in the near past shows that roughly 40% of students interested in the Science and Engineering fields end up changing their minds. I dream to be in the 60% that continue through their studies to become great inventors and engineers. In this essay I’m going to explain to you why college is important to me to reach that future.

My first reason on why college is so important is how I grew up. A lot of my family hadn’t really made it to college until my grandparents on both sides, excluding my grandfather on dad’s side. Growing up, I was always told “it doesn’t matter what you grow up to be, as long as you make it to college and finish through.” Education has always played a key role in my life

The better the education, the more I looked forward to my future. That is how I want my life to be, great. I couldn’t picture anything more for myself that what I am capable of. My dreams of Duke University might not exactly be realistic to some people, but I believe anything is possible for those who work hard. As I said in the previous paragraph, family is a huge thing part of my life. I want to be able to take care of my future family and also my present family in the case of when and if they can’t themselves. Life is too short to not help others, especially your loved ones.

Sugar Ray Robinson once said, “To be a champ, you have to believe in yourself when nobody else will.” This quote holds extremely true when dealing with college. College has many reasons for being so important not only to me, but also to others in this world. The reasons range anywhere from parents to daydreaming and from doubters to those who believe in you.
