Why I Want To Become A Successful Social Worker

The three areas that interest me the most are Mental Health and Substance Abuse, Public Health and Child Family and School. Mental health is a big issue that does not get the attention needed due to the lack of funding. Mental illness and abuse can go unnoticed and/or untreated. Public health is dealing with individuals regarding medical needs, finding a doctor and making sure they have the medication needed. Child Family and School are helping children and families with community resources, such as housing and food. Each one is an equally important role. My goals are to become a better advocate for all people by continuing my education, attending training sessions and seminars. I want to gain the confidence to become a successful social worker and help as many people as possible. …show more content…
They are helpless and innocent, at times are left without guidance. During my childhood, I experience as well as witnessed neglect within my own family. To witness someone being taken away and not understanding what was happening and why brought tears to my eyes. I do not want to imagine any other child going through abuse or neglect without some hope and support. Each individual need is sensitive and vulnerable. Being able to help people solve or handle their problems put them one step closer to a normal life. I want to be able to help them overcome their challenges. To become a successful social worker having a master’s degree would give me the credentials to be able to create more programs for children and lobby for their equal
