Why I Want To Become A Pediatric Nurse

I have grown up my whole life with one question always dangling in the air: what do I want to be when I grow up? After 18 years of changing my mind for about a million times over, I had finally landed on a career in education. At this time I decided I want to teach elementary education, specifically kindergarten because I enjoy being around young children. Still, during this point I had some doubts in my head about the career path I had chosen and I wanted to be sure of my decision. This was partially because I would be going to college soon and that meant I needed to lock down on an occupation for the rest of my life. That video had been stuck in my mind for a couple months and it finally came to me that I wanted to do that as a career. This career will not only provide me with the financial support that I need to thrive in today’s society, but I will be caring and helping others that are in real need of medical attention. I believe that I have what it takes to be a pediatric nurse. I love children and I have the ambition to learn to my fullest extent how to help these children. Not only will I help others grow and stay healthy, but I will grow from this job myself. I will expand my brain with the knowledge of how to diagnose and access the issue at hand. Children have such amazing, innocent minds and I feel they will also teach me how to be a more compassionate and thoughtful person. I realize while working with children, as well as adults, I will receive a patient that is unwilling to cooperate. Nursing will teach me to work through this while using my learned knowledge to gain their trust while keeping a calm environment.
