Why I Want To Become A Doctor

From a young age I knew I wanted to be a doctor. I remember my Kindergarten teacher asking me “imagine if you were to work at a factory with your parents”. I was young yet I knew what I wanted with my life and so I replied “Never going to happen, I’m going to be a doctor”. Since then I knew being a doctor was my long term goal. By virtue of my goal, I knew I would need to go to college and study medicine. Additionally by doing so, I would be the first person in my family to finish high school and go to college. At first I wanted to help my mom, but overtime I realized I was blessed with the ability to speak two languages and the chance to make a difference. Although I knew I wanted to be a doctor, I had no idea what to specialize in. It was until middle school when I realized that I wanted to help people directly and not just prescribe medicine. I wanted to help people when they most needed help, this caused me to come to the conclusion that I were to study emergency medicine and become an emergency physician. For a while, all seemed right, until my life drastically
