It is not that I find the atmosphere to be the most appealing, but that the experience would be worth much more than any trip meant for luxury. Today many tend to ignore situations, like the devastation in Puerto Rico, because of the fact that it isn’t favorable. We have developed a censorship to pain in order to protect ourselves, forgetting that those involved lack protection. Issues like these do not go away on their own, they require outside support in order to alleviate the side effects of such a natural disaster as Hurricane Maria. I have chosen Puerto Rico to travel to not for glamorous sights or luxury, but for the chance to improve the lives of those who really need it. The money used to purchase souvenirs is better spent on water for thirsty children, or supplies to build homes for needy families. As I have typed this essay, I wish more and more that this scenario was not fictional and I could actually achieve the trip I describe and somehow improve the living situations of those in Puerto Rico at this
