Why I Want To Be An Obgyn Essay

For women, having a baby can be both scary and exciting; I would like to have the opportunity to make it less scary and more exciting for, not just the mother, but their partner too. I think it would be wonderful to bring babies into the world everyday, and get paid for it. I have a very strong desire to become an OB/GYN, a doctor that delivers babies. I have wanted to become an OB/GYN for two years now and nothing has changed that in any way.

When I was sixteen-years-old I was given the opportunity to go into the delivery room with my aunt. I was able to assist and witness the birth of my beautiful niece, Kaylin Myers. This was truly one of the most exciting and beautiful moments of my life. The labor and delivery room was filled with friendly and knowledgeable staff that helps bring so many little miracles into this world. The delivery room was set up with a bed and linen, a lamp with a microscope sticking out of one side, a baby incubator and a table covered with stainless steel instruments; the doctors and nurses were ready for anything. Since then, i’ve been passionate about becoming an OB/GYN.

Since then i’ve read books and have done research to figure out what goals i need to accomplish to become a student and start my career. I’m taking a nursing class in school to take me further, and have even had the opportunity to intern at Peninsula Regional Hospital. I was lucky enough to be chosen to go to the Labor and Delivery floor, where I got to stock rooms and I saw a C-section. This year i will be going to the Labor and Delivery floor again in addition to the Mother/Baby floor. The clinical setting gives me the opportunity to experience the work before getting an actual job. By the end of the year, my senior year, if i pass the test, I will have my CNA certification. Having my CNA license will bring me closer to finding a job in healthcare until I can become an
