Emergency Medical Technician Career Emergency Medical Technician, commonly referred to as EMTs, are responsible for treating and transporting people in emergency medical situations. EMT units work mainly out of Ambulances in places where emergency medical services are required or at a high risk. There are multiple levels of EMTs, The lowest being EMT-Basic, then EMT-Intermediate, and the highest EMT-Paramedic. EMT units can be privately operated, publicly operated, and at times volunteer units, which are found mostly in rural areas. First of all, I will be able to work a physically requiring job while I am young and able to do so. Though I may not be able to keep up later in the future to have a past record of emergency service work will greatly help in the search for any other careers I decide to follow in the future. Ultimately overall, I would like to work in a career that I can help as many people as possible so they may continue living their lives.
