Why I Want To Be An American

A People’s Politician

Very few Americans will proudly say that they have had the dream of serving the American people in our nation’s government. For me, unlike anyone else, politics is not just my goal, but my dream. I have always lived my life knowing that no matter what the circumstance, someone doesn’t have all that they are entitled to in life. With that in mind, it drives me everyday to one day become a Politician who will become an advocate for the American people, a voice for freedom, and a philanthropist for humanity.

Becoming an advocate for the millions of Americans in the lower classes of society who have felt the pain of poverty, the reality of racism, and the concern over their constitutional rights being stripped away amendment by amendment, would come with no easy responsibility. Everyday would be a challenge, but public service is what I have always wanted to dedicate my life to but not for my own personal gain, but for the American Dream and those who strive to live for life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Becoming that advocate would require me to make many sacrifices, but that is an extraordinary burden that I am willing to carry only for the sake of each of my fellow Americans, and our allies abroad.

Being the son of a former United States Soldier, a working middle class family man, and a lover of our stars and stripes, my Father has pioneered the path, so that me, my brother, and my mother can live with a ticket to the American Dream with a front row seat. I strive to defend the legacies of the men and women before me who have built the American Dream brick by brick. Politics will never be used for my own personal power, but used as a chance to give the people a direct voice to Washington, and to serve them

Through the parallelism that the writer Shauna Singh Baldwin portrays to us in conjunction with the confrontational limits being placed ahead of her as she matured. Barriers by that time had been set by her and those who had a part to play in their role of the upbringing of Shauna. Shauna states in the second paragraph, the tedious repetition of human existence through parallelism, speaking on necessary and commonplace tasks we go through our daily lives. As budding human beings, we contribute to our hinderance of our success by taking on artificial barriers, often for no purpose or by blindly following cultural norms. We bear to say words like "Oh, I can't do that because I am just not good enough for it".…

America has several differnet values, but also has a bad habit of stepping on it's own toe. America stresses the fact that if you put hard work and determination towards reaching your goal, you are most likely to complete such. During your journey to success you do learn that you have dress a certain way, speak a certain way and act a certain way. On the way to my interview with my current job, I automatically knew that I couldn't speak, dress nor act as if I was in the presence of my friends. I had to wear one of my nicest dress suits, I had to get rid of the "slang" and speak proper english.…

If I can’t make it to the very top, I’ll aspire to inspire the future generation of Asian Americans in government. America: The Fall of a Once Great Nation As United States citizens, students in public schools are required to profess their undying love and loyalty to what politicians want them to believe is the greatest nation in the world. Children are brought up to believe that being an American means being safe when walking the streets, having a house with a picket fence, earning a livable income for one’s family, and the possibility of world peace if all other nations would only listen to the US and their ways as a government. This type of thinking usually continues well into adulthood. Politicians running for President, or more often other political seats, use the American Dream as the lifestyle they will strive toward with their campaign ideas.…
