My exploration will be the connection and relationship that I have to the universe, math and science. Why do I care about these subjects and how will I convey this to my audience? As a child of the sixties, the exploration of space was an intense thought for a young child. The television show Star Trek came out. My father would let me watch the show with him, and my mother would yell at him, explaining that that was a terrible show for a small child. I am sure she saw Captain Curt being a cad, but all I saw was the technology and stars. What is it that pulls scientists and myself to these subjects? In my exploration on subjects of our universe, the use of math, and the daunting task to find out and explain the sciences of our inner and outer world, I want to understand why it is important and consuming to our species. I want to understand why these subjects are so intriguing, but how do I convey my ideas in images. I would like to use images that are familiar and unfamiliar to evoke a wow factor. I feel the wow factor when acknowledging what our scientists, …show more content…
Researching mathematical equations, exploring the NASA database and learning more about physics and cosmology will become part of my investigations, through the use of databases and books from the library. Including the use of information I might find at the different colleges at the Rochester Institute of Technology. Experimenting with large scale imagery in the printmaking process and using unconventional materials to convey meaning in my thesis imagery. I would like to use three-dimensional sculpture in conjunction with two –dimensional art. I am interested in combining commonalities between the sciences of sight, sound, physical and mental abilities including mathematical capabilities.
