Why I Want To Be A Veterinary Technician Essay

My love for animals and passion for medicine has shown me that a Career as a Veterinary Tech is where I belong. The first step is applying to a Technology/Technician Program. Before entering, this program requires you to take prerequisites that include basic math, writing, and computer courses. There is a big difference between a veterinary technician and Veterinary technologist. A Veterinary technologist attends college for about four to five years and graduates with a B.S. degree in Veterinary Technology. Because it’s a more advance degree, the tuition cost is the downside but you have a better chance earning more money was a B.S. than an A.S. On the other hand, there is a shorter way out if you don’t want to study for that many years by studying for an A.S degree.There are many schools that offer this program, the University of Florida being one. There are many different degrees and majors to choose from within the medical field. Two degrees that qualify graduates to work as a sonographer would be an Associate of Science in Diagnostic Ultrasound and the Bachelor of Science in Diagnostic Medical Sonography. An Associate Degree in science is a blended course, which allows you to complete your coursework and prepares you for your program of study. In addition, before applying for Internship programs you must become state certified by taking and passing the ARDMS exam. Regardless of which degree you choose to obtain, both require numerous science courses such as Anatomy, Biology and Health Science. An A.S. degree automatically prepares you with on hand training in clinical studies and clinical practices but it doesn’t let you further your education when wanting to advance in your career.
